I call shenanigans!!!

We all doubt ourselves. Sometimes, we can talk ourselves through it. Sometimes it takes the support of a friend, co-worker or mentor to help us weather the storm. What happens when you doubt yourself…. but you don’t know it? Ever wonder why certain parts of your life seem like “groundhog day”, doomed to repeat themselves over and over? Perhaps it’s not being able to lose weight, or picking unsuitable relationships, or feeling trapped in one under-paying job after another. Why do we do this? Why do we allow some of these things to continue to happen and look at it as “fate” or “the way it’s supposed to be” or “just how life is?” As my son would say, I call shenanigans! Continue reading

Where Do You Get Started In Marketing?

This entry is part 8 of 10 in the series Best of WCWO

For Gold and Secret Society Members Only:

I hear this question…a lot. Twelve teachers tell me twelve different ways to sell my product. How do I know what to do first? Here’s the problem: those speakers teach product creation. They don’t teach how to market to sell them, they teach HOW to create them. There’s nothing wrong with that. But that explains why they don’t teach more about marketing. I’m going to tell you what to do first. I ONLY teach marketing for female entrepreneurs, plus I’m a very successful copywriter, so there’s a darn good chance that I know what I’m talking about. Walking out to the mailbox has certainly become an arduous chore. You know what you’re going to see when you get there. There are the standard bills, the unexpected bills, and the bills that you’ve paid already but the bill company is sending you a late notice in case you’ve paid but they haven’t received it yet. Then there’s my favorite… Continue reading

Most folks go to at least one seminar, hear about how they can make a mint in the latest and greatest way to make money on the internet, and then go home at try it to no avail. What went wrong? The material presented was good. You could tell that it would work. Why didn’t it? I’ll tell you and you’ll be surprised to see that it has nothing to do with scams or frauds. Continue reading

The Ugly Duckling

This entry is part 5 of 10 in the series Best of WCWO

For Gold and Secret Society members only:

When I was in 7th grade, I had a horrific bicycle accident. I fell off the side of a bridge head-first into a river filled with large rocks. The result of the accident involved immediate reconstructive surgery on my face, my front 4 teeth being sewn back into my mouth, and several weeks and months out of school for rehabilitation. I had a severe concussion which required that I be awake for 48 hours after the accident so I didn’t lapse into a coma, and I had many, many x-rays of my brain taken. I couldn’t remember what day it was for more than 30 seconds at a time. In fact, I don’t remember anything about the accident at all. Continue reading

Direct Mail vs. Door Knocking – Pros and Cons

This entry is part 3 of 10 in the series Best of WCWO

For Gold and Secret Society Members Only:

I think we’ve all heard different speakers say different things about marketing. Some say that you should knock on as many doors as possible. Others say that signs are the way to go. Some talk about direct mail. Others swear by newspaper ads. We’ll look at the pros and cons of each. Today, it’s door knocking vs. direct mail. Who is gonna win? Continue reading
