I started my first business in my car. Literally.
I don’t mean I was selling something outta the trunk of my car – I mean…
I was LIVING in my car.
I’d lost everything.
Been laid off from my job.
My children had been taken by my ex-husband and disappeared for over 6 months.
I didn’t see a whole lot else I could do.
It was try something new, or lay down and die.
So I created a business. And it failed. Miserably. (I was painting terra cotta pottery and making wreaths from dried grapevine.)
So I tried again. And failed.
I tried again and again. Attempts include: real estate investing, mortgage refinancing, and several others before I finally discovered that I was better at marketing than anything else!
Eventually, I was successful enough to get a house, find my children, and start living what I hoped would be a ‘normal’ life.
I’ve been poor and I’ve been successful. I’ve been fat and I’ve lost the weight. I’ve had everything and lost it all (several times).
What keeps me going?
I learn something new about myself and what I’m capable of EACH TIME I FAIL.
I make certain that the failures that are the greatest are SO PAINFUL that I will NEVER repeat them again and will do my ‘damnedest’ to make sure that those failures are never repeated.
So Why Do You Care?
Because I started Women Creating Wealth Online with two things in mind:
1. Women account for over half of the businesses started in America today. Yet there are NO groups or clubs where WOMEN can learn from other WOMEN about HOW to run those businesses! That’s numero uno for me – TEACHING you how to grow your business, regardless of where you started or how you got to where you are.
2. Because of everything I’ve been through, there are NO REASONS why you cannot be successful. By having lived through the past 10 years of my life, the successes and the failures, the trials and errors, the good times and bad, you have NO EXCUSES as to why you cannot grow your business (or start one if you haven’t already!)
The bottom line is, wherever you are in life or business right now, I’ve been there. I know the heartache of putting your heart and soul into something that doesn’t turn out like you’d hoped. I know the joy of seeing something take off when you least expected it.
